(ENG) Established on the banks of the Moselle, in the heart of the village of Ahn, the house Schmit-Fohl was founded in the 18th century. By taking over the reins of the estate in 1985, Armand and Patrizia Schmit wished to bring their vision and their personality to what previous generations had built. Innovation is not an end in itself. It is more about experimenting, following an intuition, in the light of the knowledge acquired, the lands and the climates, without ever conceding anything to the authenticity that characterizes the wines of the domain. In 2016, their eldest son Nicolas began to take over, still accompanied by his parents. Since 2017, the house has cultivated all of its vineyards in organic viticulture. We are not succumbing to the euphoria of progress; we try to harmonize science and craftsmanship. Our mission is to allow the terroir and grape varieties to express themselves.

En reprenant les rênes du domaine en 1985, Armand et Patrizia Schmit ont souhaité apporter leur vision et leur personnalité à ce que les générations précédentes avaient construit. L’innovation n’est pas une fin en soi. Il s’agit davantage d’expérimenter, de suivre une intuition, à la lumière des connaissances acquises, des terroirs et des climats, sans jamais rien concéder à l’authenticité qui caractérise les vins du domaine. En 2016, leur fils ainé Nicolas a commencé à prendre la relève, toujours accompagné par ses parents. Depuis 2017 la maison cultive la totalité de ses vignobles en viticulture biologique. Nous ne succombons pas à l’euphorie du progrès ; nous essayons de marier harmonieusement science et artisanat. Notre mission consiste à permettre au terroir et aux cépages de s’exprimer.
